OnStar Gives Back
Houston, we had a problem. This project taught me how to dust myself off and bounce back even greater — and also do greater.
The task was to honor Houston’s First Responders with a mural symbolizing their strength during Hurricane Harvey. But when our mural artist unexpectedly bailed on the first day of shooting, we were left scrambling. As we toured the station, we discovered their ambulance was riddled with bullet holes, a shocking reminder of the daily danger these heroes face. In that moment, my partner and I pivoted—we decided to donate a new ambulance instead.
We turned the reveal into a community event, inviting local politicians, residents, and station families to a neighborhood BBQ. To make it even more special, the Houston Astros sent two star players to drive the new ambulance and present the station with season tickets. What started as a setback became an unforgettable moment that truly brought the Houston community together.
