USAA ‘Miles’

This project taught me how to shoot three productions at once. It took a lot of teamsters and coffee. BTW, I made it snow in Los Angeles!

The challenge was to show a veteran’s several changes of station and at the same time, show how his family of 7 grew as well. In order to tell the story without descriptive VO or supers, I decided to let the moving truck tell the story. Every time Hiram opens the truck, you see him at a different stage of his military life. The scenery changes as well as the items in the truck to represent how the kids are growing too. In the end I had the kids grab the bags from the truck as nod to USAA, and how they were there for Hiram throughout his kid’s lives.
